Lakshmi Panchami falls on Chaitra Shukla Panchami. The day is also known as Kalpadi.

The day of Laxmi Panchami relates to the beginning of a Kalpa, according to Vedic division of time.

The day is devoted to Goddess Lakshmi, the Goddess of wealth and prosperity. Lakshmi Panchami is also known as Shri Panchami or Shri Vrata.

It is very auspicious to worship Goddess Lakshmi on this day. People observe a fast and worship Goddess Lakshmi on the day.

Businessmen also perform puja on this day.

Panchami Tithi Begins – 03:45 PM on Apr 05, 2022.

Panchami Tithi Ends – 06:01 PM on Apr 06, 2022.

It is believed that worshipping Goddess Laxmi eliminates poverty.

Devotees can worship Goddess Laxmi by chanting her mantras and reading stotras including Kanakdhara Stotra, Laxmi Stotram, and Shri Suktam.

Rituals: On the day of Lakshmi Panchami, devotees wake up early in the morning, take bath and chant stotras and mantra of Goddess Laxmi before beginning the fast.

An idol of Goddess Laxmi is placed on a platform and cleaned with Panchamrit. Sandalwood, banana leaves, garland of flowers, rice, durva, red thread, betel nuts, coconut are offered to the Goddess.

After Aarti of Goddess Laxmi, food is offered to Brahmins. Some money is also given to them as donation.

Vrat observers can only eat fruits, milk, and sweets.
