The saffron party leaders staged a demonstration and gheraoed the Gop Tehsil office demanding a CBI inquiry into the land grab allegations against the IPS officer. Besides, they also demanded the arrest of the top cop.

“We demand a CBI inquiry into the land grab allegations and the arrest of Satish Gajbhiye. The officer has conned innocent people and grabbed acres of land. A huge pond has been dug for pisciculture. Besides, roads have been constructed at an estimated expenditure of Rs 5 crore on private land. How could this be done? This is a nexus of the mafia and government. A CBI probe will expose all those involved in this,” senior BJP leader Bijay Mohapatra said.

Mohapatra, accompanied by Pruthviraj Harichandan and several local BJP leaders and workers, staged a demonstration in front of the tehsil office today.

On August 19, the Board of Revenue, Odisha had ordered a Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) level inquiry into the alleged land grab by the suspended former Kendrapara SP. The Board had directed RDC (Central) Bikash Mohapatra to conduct an inquiry into the alleged land grab by Gajbhiye in his wife’s name. Besides, a five-member vigilance team is also probing the allegations.

It may be mentioned that Gajbhiye had purchased 7.60 acres of land in the name of his wife, but has allegedly encroached on nearly 70 acres of adjacent government land for pisciculture purposes by digging ponds.
