Koraput, Sep 16:

Rail services between Odisha’s Koraput and Andhra Pradesh’s Visakhapatnam have come to a halt as mud and huge boulders have come rolling down on the tracks due to landslides caused by low pressure triggered heavy rains.

A huge boulder that rolled down from the hills and is lying on the railway track at Dumuriput, which is 13 km away from Koraput, has blocked movement of rail traffic between Koraput and Damanjodi.

Railway officials are trying to remove the boulder by blasting it into small pieces, reports said.

Similarly, mud has piled up on the railway tracks near Machhkund. All trains on this route have been cancelled.
