“I am proud of my son, even though it is a great personal loss,” said his teary eyed mother Bharati Rout.

“He was my only son. Although I am proud of him, it is a very big tragedy for the family. Kishore had joined BSF in 2001. He had served in Kashmir for 10 years and was posted in the Palam airport since 2012”, said Rout’s father Balakrushna Rout, who himself is a retired BSF jawan.

Rout is survived by his wife Pragati and two children Sriharsha (10) and Aditya (2).

Earlier, the mortal remains of Rout was taken to the village last night after it arrived at the Biju Patnaik International Airport of Bhubaneswar in a special BSF plane from New Delhi.

Notably, kishore was among the 10 BSF jawans on the ill fated small twin-engine Border Security Force aircraft bound for Ranchi on Tuesday which crashed near Dwarka after it burst into flames just outside IGI airport.
