Odisha to get its 4th Vande Bharat train soon

The railway authorities will soon run a Vande Bharat Express train between Berhampur in Odisha and Tatanagar in neighbouring Jharkhand. The trial run of the Vande Bharat train will commence on September 8 (Sunday).

Odisha will soon see the launch of its fourth Vande Bharat Express train, connecting Berhampur to Tatanagar in Jharkhand

The trial run for this route is scheduled to begin on September 8, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi expected to officially flag off the service on September 15

The journey from Tatanagar to Berhampur will take approximately 9 hours and 10 minutes, while the return trip will take around 8 hours and 55 minutes

The Vande Bharat Express will cover a distance of 586 km, with stops at Chaibasa, Dangoaposi, Banspani, Kendujhargarh, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, and Balugaon

The train is set to depart from Tatanagar at 5:20 am and reach Berhampur by 2:30 pm The return journey will start from Berhampur at 3:00 pm and arrive at Tatanagar by 11:55 pm.

This will be the 63rd Vande Bharat Express in India, adding to the three existing services in Odisha, which run between Puri-Howrah, Puri-Rourkela, and Bhubaneswar-Visakhapatnam

Indian Railways has also announced plans to introduce Vande Bharat Sleeper trains, aiming to offer a luxurious and comfortable journey akin to European standards

Currently, Vande Bharat services cater to long-distance travelers, while the Vande Metro serves urban and semi-urban commuters
