Light to moderate rain, thundershower very likely in Odisha districts from November 15

Bhubaneswar: With cyclonic circulation extending up to mid-tropospheric levels tilting southwestwards with height, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Odisha from November 15 onwards, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre in Bhubaneswar forecasted today.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD mentioned, “A cyclonic circulation lies over Gulf of Thailand and extends up to mid-tropospheric levels tilting southwestwards with height. It is likely to emerge into Andaman Sea on 13th November. Under its influence, a Low Pressure Area is likely to form over Southeast Bay of Bengal around 14th November. It is likely to move westnorthwestwards and intensify into a Depression over Central and adjoining South Bay of Bengal around 16th November, 2023.”

Dry weather prevailed over the districts of Odisha. Minimum temperatures observed appreciable fall at one or two places over the districts of South Interior Odisha and no large change at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. They were below normal at one or two places, appreciably above normal at one or two places, above normal at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.

The highest maximum temperature of 34.4°C was recorded at Paralekhemundi and the lowest minimum temperature of 14.0°C was recorded at Phulbani in the plains of Odisha. No large change in Minimum (night) temperature is likely during next 4 to 5 days at many places over the districts of Odisha.
