Lightning, rainfall warning issued for 12 Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Centre here has issued lightning and thunderstorm accompanied with rainfall warning for 12 districts of the State today.

“Latest doppler weather radar and satellite imageries indicate that the light to moderate thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and moderate rainfall likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Khurda, Cuttack, Sonepur, Boud, Balangir, Rayagada, Gajapati and Kandhamal between 1.30 and 5.30 pm” an IMD bulletin said.

People have been advised not to venture out of home during this time and have been asked to take shelter in safe places.
