Lightning, thunderstorm warning for 11 districts in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Centre here has issued thunderstorm and lightning warning for 11 districts of the State today.

The districts are Nuapada, Balangir, Bargarh, Sundergarh, Puri, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Khordha, and Keonjhar.

The IMD, in its release, said lightning and thunderstom accompanied with hail due to Nor’wester rain (Kala Baishakhi) will occure in these districts till 8.30 pm.

Earlier in the day, the Met Department has also forecasted that the same in four districts such as Puri, Ganjam, Rayagada and Balangir.

People have been advised not to venture out of home during this time and have been asked to take shelter in safe places.
