Bhubaneswar, Jan 10 :

Linkan Subuddhi, the BJD candidate personally chosen by party supremo Naveen Patnaik, who lost the election to a BJD rebel candidate in Ward No 8 has squarely blamed state Health minister Dr Damodar Rout, the outgoing Mayor Anant Narayan Jena and BJD MLA, Bhubaneswar North Bhagirathi Badajena for conspiring against her.Linkan-Subudhi

A crestfallen Linkan told media persons on Thursday that she was a victim of a conspiracy by these three BJD leaders who did not want her to win. She accused Dr Rout of trying to ensure her defeat so that his daughter Preetinanda Routray has no competitors when it comes to nominating a woman Mayor for Bhubaneswar.

While Dr Rout has dismissed Linkan’s allegations as nothing more than blabbering by a person who did not deserve to get the party ticket, MLA Badajena said she failed to connect with the Basti voters.Former Mayor Anant Narayan Jena said her statements should be seen as an emotional outburst.

” The  matter is likely to be taken up for review by the party supremo and chief minister Naveen Patnaik who is shocked over Linkan’s defeat,” a BJD leader told OST.

The BJD leadership is also likely to go for a review of the popularity status of the three Bhubaneswar MLAs on the basis of the BMC poll results, the leader added.
