Links of three COVID-19 patients from Odisha Capital to outside State established

Bhubaneswar: Urging residents of Bhubaneswar not to panic in view of the COVID-19 outbreak in the State’s Capital city, Bhubanswar Municipal Corporation’s Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary today revealed the link of three patients who tested positive for the deadly virus during the past couple of days.

A man from Danagahari village in Pipili area of Puri district, who tested positive for the virus yesterday, stays in BJB Nagar, Bhubaneswar informed, the BMC Commissioner. The COVID-19 patient works as a postman at BJB Nagar Sub Post Office and had returned from Delhi on March 10, the official added.

As the service area of the postman is Gautam Nagar and Court area, the BMC Commissioner requested the people who have came in contact with the concerned person to call Health Helpline -104 and register themselves.

Regarding Bomikhal case, Chaudhary said father of the three brothers, who were found to be positive for COVID-19 yesterday, stays in Bhopal and has been tested positive for the virus.

This apart, the official disclosed the outside state connection of the 60-year-old man from Surya Nagar in Bhubaneswar who was tested positive for the virus on Thursday.

One of the man’s family members travelled to Kolkata and stayed there for four days. The family member also tested positive for the deadly virus, Chaudhary said.

The official further said active surveillance of the residents of the areas where the COVID-19 patients have been staying will be undertaken as earlier and sought cooperation from people for the same.

Till today, a total of 21 persons from the State have tested positive for COVID-19. Out of them 14 have been staying in Bhubaneswar alone.
