Agitators blocked the road with buckets and shouted slogans against the administration. Vehicular communication was badly hit on the road.

“The supply lines do not work. We walk up to seven kilometres everyday to fetch drinking water. Feeding our livestock becomes even more cumbersome given the scorching heat,” said an agitator.

The agitation, however, was called off after Kamakhyanagar BDO Pitambar Samal reached the spot and assured the public of water supply through containers.

“The villagers are not able to get supply water as some of the miscreants have leaked the pipes to steal water. They had blocked the main road demanding facilitation of drinking water and called off the stir after I assured them to facilitate it through containers. Besides, we are also looking into the technical aspects for a long term solution,” said Samal.
