Finally, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is ready for the social media platform on Facebook. After joining Twitter in September last year, the Odisha CM opened an official Facebook page ‘Naveen Odisha’ yesterday.

After updating his profile photo and cover picture, Naveen Patnaik (or his team) went on to post the first status update with a Jai Jagannath and a picture of the famed Rath Yatra of Puri. This page of Patnaik has 40,541 page likes so far and counting.

The official release issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) states that this Facebook page of the Chief Minister will felicitate feedback from people and promote better delivery of services and governance. And therefore, people are encouraged to provide suggestions and ideas using this social media platform.

It may be noted that the Odisha CM’s office was the first CMO in India to use the live streaming facility, as confirmed by Facebook.
