Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre here has issued heavy rainfall warning for several districts of Odisha for today in view of the low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Bolangir and Nuapada, the Meteorological Centre forecasted and issued Orange Warning for these districts.
Heavy Rainfall (7 to 11 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, Khordha, Puri, Nayagarh, Boudh, Sonepur, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda and Sundargarh, the Meteorological Centre predicted and issued Yellow Warning for these districts.
On the other hand, the low pressure area lies over Northeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of West Bengal-north Odisha coasts. It is likely to move west-northwestwards across north Odisha and north Chhattisgarh during next 2-3 days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its morning bulletin today.
