Low Pressure: Heavy rainfall likely in these Odisha districts today

Bhubaneswar: Several districts of Odisha are likely to experience heavy rainfall today under the influence of a low pressure area, the Regional Meteorological Centre here forecasted.

“Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Bolangir, Bargarh, Nuapada, Sambalpur and Angul,” the Meteorological Centre predicted.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha, it added.

On the other hand, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in its morning bulletin said, “The monsoon trough now passes through Bikaner, Kota, the Low Pressure Area over central parts of Madhya Pradesh, Jharsuguda, Puri and thence southeastwards to Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and extends upto 1.5 km above mean sea level.”
