Low Pressure: IMD issues very heavy rainfall warning for 11 Odisha dists for tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued very heavy rainfall warning (Orange Warning) for as many as 11 districts of Odisha for tomorrow in connection with the low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal.

“Yesterday’s Low Pressure Area over Westcentral Bay of Bengal now lies over Westcentral & adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal off north Andhra Pradesh south Odisha coasts with the associated cyclonic circulation extending up to mid-tropospheric levels. It is very likely to become more marked over Northwest & adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal off south Odisha-north Andhra Pradesh coasts during next 36 hours,” the IMD said in its bulletin today.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20 cm) very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Khordha, Nayagarh and Cuttack tomorrow, the agency said.

Heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Nuapada, Bolangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur and Puri, it added and issued Yellow Warning for these districts.
