Low Pressure likely in 24 hrs; Heavy rainfall warning for several Odisha dists today

Bhubaneswar: A low pressure area is likely to form over north Odisha and neighbourhood during the next 24 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its bulletin issued this morning.

“The cyclonic circulation over Bangladesh & neighbourhood extending upto 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height persists. Under its influence, a Low Pressure Area likely to form over north Odisha & neighbourhood during next 24 hours,” the bulletin said.

On the other hand, the Regional Meteorological Centre here has issued heavy rainfall warning for several districts of Odisha for today.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Dhenkanal and Angul, the Meteorological Centre forecasted and issued Orange Warning for these districts.

Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Boudh, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Nuapada, Kandhamal, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Cuttack, Mayurbhanj, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh and Balasore, the Meteorological Centre predicted and issued Yellow Warning for these districts.
