Deep depression likely to trigger rainfall in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Aug 10:

A low pressure area formed over Northwest Bay of Bengal has turned into deep depression and is likely is trigger rainfall across Odisha in the next 24 hours, the Meteorological Department predicted.

Rainfall/thundershowers are likely to occur at most places over the districts of north Odisha and at many places over the districts of south Odisha, the local Meteorological Centre forecasted, adding that heavy to very heavy with extremely heavy rainfall likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of north Odisha in the next 24 hours.

Strong and gusty surface wind with speed reaching 50 to 60 kmph gusting 70 kmph may prevail along and off Odisha coast. Sea condition would be rough to very rough in Odisha coast. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into sea.

Local cautionary signal number-3 (LC-III) has been hoisted at all ports in the state.
