“Rain or thundershower is likely to occur at a few places over south Odisha and at one or two places over north Odisha,” said an IMD bulletin.

The low pressure area formed over South Andaman Sea and neighbourhood became a well marked low pressure area. It lies over southeast Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood on Wednesday.

It is very likely to move towards the northwest and concentrate into a depression during next 12 hours. Subsequently, it is very likely to further intensify while moving north-westward, said the bulletin.

It said that surface wind speed from north-easterly direction, with speed 35 to 45 kmph, would prevail along and off Odisha coast.

Since sea condition would be moderate to rough, fishermen are advised to be cautious while venturing out into the sea.
