Low pressure to trigger heavy rains in Odisha from October 23

Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre today forecast heavy rainfall in south Odisha from October 23. As a cyclonic circulation formed over south-west Bay of Bengal will transform into a low pressure in next 48 hours, rain is expected to lash the southern districts of the State, the centre added.

The weathermen also said northern parts of the State will experience rains in October 24 and 25. Besides, heavy rain is likely in Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, Puri, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Nuapada and Bolangir districts.

Yellow warning has been issued for Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Sundergarh, Mayurbhanj, Nuapada, Koraput, Malkangiri and Nabarangpur districts. The met centre said the districts will experience thunderstorm from November 21 to 22.
