Low pressure triggered rainfall likely to lash interior Odisha

A low pressure area formed over west-central Bay of Bengal is likely to trigger heavy rainfall in interior Odisha in the next 24 hours, the Indian Meteorological Department predicted.

The low pressure lying over west-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal Andhra Pradesh yesterday has moved to north coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal today with the associated upper air cyclonic circulation extending up to 5.8 km above the mean sea level and tilting southwards, a release of the Meteorological Department said.

Rainfall/thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over the districts of interior Odisha and at a few places over the districts of coastal Odisha, the local meteorological centre forecasted, adding that heavy rainfall likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of interior Odisha in the next 24 hours.
