The former Upper House MP has been accused of reimbursing LTC claims of her companion by producing false boarding passes of airlines and other travel documents.

The CBI had on Friday booked six Rajya Sabha MPs including former BJD MP Renu Bala Pradhan for cheating and forgery in the Leave and Travel Concession (LTC) scam on Friday.

The national investigating agency also on the same day raided the house of a cousin of Pradhan in Bhubaneswar.

Lakhs of rupees are said to have been fraudulently claimed from the government through fake Leave Travel Concession (LTC) claims, availed by some MPs and government officials using fake or forged travel documents.

The incident came to light after the vigilance department of Air India (AI) was alerted about the arrest of a man in March at the Kolkata airport with 600 blank boarding passes of the airline in his possession.

What is the CBI going to achieve by grilling an accused ? It should immediately arrest the accused in LTC scam case, in the same manner police arrests men and their parents in false IPC 498A cases without doing investigation and without proof. Law is equal for all and CBI should not treat the accused in LTC scam as above law.
