Lulu challenges BJD to stop him

Bhubaneswar, Jan 7:

Following BJD spokesperson Pratap Keshari Deb’s warning on Tuesday to use “tit-for-tat” tactics against egg pelting on ministers vehicles by Congress activists, senior Congress leader Lalatendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra (Lulu) today dared the BJD leaders to try it out on him.

“I am on way to Phulbani from Khurda. Let them try and counter me. I will see to it that they don’t get to step out of their home, should they attempt it,” said Mohapatra while speaking to reporters at a felicitation ceremony in Khurda.

‘I have already said it clearly that I support what the kids (NSUI members) have done. I thank them wholeheartedly. I urge them to take this up across the state until our goal is achieved,” he added without clarifying what the goal is.  Instead, he simply hinted that, “January is going to be a turning point for Congress and Odisha,” which has left everyone guessing.

BJD reacted sharply to Mohapatra’s statement.

“Congress is known for its hooliganism. Former Brahmagiri MLA, who used to lead such activities, has made this irresponsible statement. The people of the state have rejected the party and they will give a befitting reply to such acts. So far as not letting us get out of  our homes is concerned, only time will tell,” said BJD spokesperson Samir Dash.
