Lulu said the on-camera statement made by Jena, in the course of an interview with OTV, that prayers wishing his defeat in the elections were conducted in Guwahati by some people over the last one or one and half months was pure rubbish, absurd and unbecoming of a person who claims to be a senior leader.

” I, Narasingha Mishra, Dushmant Nayak, Rairangpur MLA and others had visited Guwahati recently. If Srikant Babu thinks we had prayed for his defeat, who is stopping him from holding a ‘yajna’ as a counter measure to ensure his victory?”, he quipped.

Commenting on Srikant Jena’s statement that he had refused to take the responsibility of campaigning and had made this clear to the party high command, Lulu said, ” This is a lame excuse. On the one hand you want to grab all the power and party positions and on the other, you choose to run away from the responsibilities that the job entails. Why didn’t he hand over the responsibility of campaigning to other senior leaders ?”

While talking to OST, the outspoken leader said he expects senior party leaders to behave sensibly when they talk to the media and not make a fool of themselves by making childish and wild allegations.
