Mahanga double murder accused found dead; probe begins

Cuttack: Prafulla Biswal, one of the accused in Mahanga double murder case was found dead on road near Tangi here late last night. He was absconding after the the double murder.

On receiving information, Tangi police rushed to the spot and began a probe to find out whether Prafulla died in a road mishap or it is a case of murder.

It is pertinent to mention here that 10 people have so far been arrested in connection with the murder of BJP leader Kulamani Baral and his associate Dibya Singh Baral in Mahanga of Cuttack district last month.

It is pertinent to mention here that Kulamani and Dibya Singh were critically injured after allegedly being attacked by some miscreants with sharp weapons near Jankoti in Cuttack district on January 2 evening when the duo was returning home on a motorcycle.

The two were rushed to the Mahanga Community Health Centre (CHC), where doctors declared Kulamani brought dead while Dibya Singh was shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital. However, he too succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
