Bhubaneswar: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today relieved the advisors, appointed in various departments during the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) regime in Odisha, of their responsibilities.

This was revealed by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) in a statement today.

“The appointment of advisors in various departments has not brought any improvement in the overall efficiency in implementation of government programmes and initiatives. So, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has taken a decision to relieve the advisors of their responsibilities,” said the CMO in its statement.

The BJD government in Odisha had appointed advisors in various departments during its fifth term from 2019 to 2024.

The BJP has formed its first-ever government in Odisha after the party managed to win 78 Assembly seats of the total 147 in the state in the recently concluded polls.
