Man ends life as police pick up son in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj

Baripada: A 48-year-old man allegedly ended his life after police picked up his son at Haladia village under Kuliana police limits in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district, last night. The deceased was identified as Sugada Murmu.

According to reports, Sugada’s 19-year-old son was picked up by the Suliapada police from his house in a love affair-related case.

Shockingly, Sugada was found hanging from a pole near the house, this morning. It is being suspected that he died by suicide by hanging himself as he became highly upset over the turn of events.

On being informed, Kuliana police reached the village, recovered the body for post-mortem and started an investigation. An unnatural death case has been registered into the incident.

On the other hand, a police personnel said the youth was picked up only for questioning on the basis of a complaint filed by a college girl.
