Man escapes from quarantine centre in Odisha’s Jharsuguda

Jharsuguda: A man kept at a quarantine centre in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district fled yesterday, police sources said.

The person has been identified as Asid Khan of Kabaristanpada in the district. He had come to Jharsuguda from COVID-19 affected Nala Road area of Rourkela city on April 26.

Khan was later kept at a quarantine centre at BTM Primary School in the district. His swab sample was collected and sent for COVID-19 test. However, he fled the quarantine facility yesterday morning, sources said.

On the basis of a complaint lodged by an official, police registered a case against Khan under sections 188, 269, 270 and 271 of the IPC. He was traced and apprehended by the cops last night.
