Khandagiri police sources said Nrusinghanarayan Samantray was nabbed by the brother of the deceased in Baramunda area and handed over to the police this afternoon. He was absconding since the murder in 2013, they added.

The brother of the deceased Ranjan Baliarsingh, who had lodged a complaint with Jankia police against Samantray, said he had information that his brother-in-law was hiding in Baramunda area.

Ranjan, along with his associates, caught Samantray and handed him over to Khandagiri police, who later informed Jankia police to take hin into their custody.

Samantray had reportedly killed his wife after she came to know about his extra-marital affair with one of his relatives.

The accused had then disposed of her body on the railway tracks under Jankia police limits. Jankia police said Samantray would be produced in a local court in the district on Wednesday.

It does not look like a big crime. There are hundreds of instances of wives killing their husbands for extra marital affairs, but rarely given punishment for same. Same logic should apply here too.
