Man killed by neighbour over land dispute in Odisha’s Sundargarh
The deceased was identified as Chaitu Nayak and the accused Laka Nayak, both from Haatisal village under Phuljhar panchayat within Mahulpada police limits.
Rourkela: In a shocking incident, a man was allegedly attacked and killed by his neighbour over a land dispute in Mahulpada in Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Sunday evening. The deceased was identified as Chaitu Nayak and the accused Laka Nayak, both from Haatisal village under Phuljhar panchayat within Mahulpada police limits.
Sources said Chaitu and Laka were neighbours and were on good terms due to dispute over a piece of land. On Sunday evening, the duo again got into a fight due to the issue. As the spat got uglier, Laka took a piece of wooden log and attacked Chaitu. The attack was so severe that Chaitu died on the spot.
On getting information, police led by Bonai SDPO reached the spot and started investigation. Laka was arrested and taken to police custody for further questioning. As per reports, a forensic team has reached the spot and started further probe.
