Man looted of over Rs 3 lakh in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj
Baripada: Unidentified miscreants allegedly looted over Rs 3 lakh from the samesman of a private company at Betnoti market in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district today.
As per a police complaint lodged by victim Gopinath Behera of Khantapada area in Balasore district, he was collecting payments from shops at the market when three motorcycle-borne miscreants attacked him and tried to snatch away a bag containing the money from his possession.
As he resisted, the looters assaulted him with a knife, took away the bag, and fled the spot on the two-wheeler.
Behera sustained critical injuries in the attack and was rushed to Betnoti Hospital for treatment. He was later shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital as his condition deteriorated.
