Man stabs neighbour to death over petty issue in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur

Jagatsinghpur: A person allegedly killed his neighbour at Marunia village under Balikuda police limits in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district this morning over a petty issue.

The accused, identified as Charu Khatua (24), has been detained by police for questioning.

According to reports, one Bibek Rout (33) of the village and Gajendra Khatua, Charu’s father, were jesting with each other.

Bibek was told by Charu to abstain from having such conversation with the latter’s father following which a heated exchange of words ensued between the two. The verbal duel soon took an ugly turn as Charu stabbed Bibek with a knife.

He sustained critical injuries in the attack and was admitted to Balikuda hospital. The victim was later shifted to Jagatsinghpur district headquarters hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment.
