Man throws footwear at Minister Pratap Jena in Odisha’s Cuttack [Watch]
Cuttack: A man allegedly threw footwear at Minister Pratap Jena while the latter was attending a function in Mahanga area of Odisha’s Cuttack district, last evening.
The incident took place at the Sarat Utsav held at Bhanjamandapatha in Gokan panchayat under Mahanga police limits.
According to reports, one Nagabhushan Swain of Bainpur village under Haladia panchayat tried to approach Minister Jena, who was sitting on the stage at the event.
As the security personnel and Jena’s supporters stopped Swain, he threw the footwear at the minister.
However, it missed Jena and hit his security personnel, who was standing behind the minister on the dais.
Tension ran high at the spot following the incident as Jena’s supporters thrashed Swain. He was then detained by police for questioning.
The reason behind the act by Swain was yet to be known.
