Mancheswar Carriage Repair Workshop awarded ISO 14001:2004 certification

The Carriage Repair Workshop of the East Coast Railway (ECoR) at Mancheswar in Odisha has added another feather to its cap after it was awarded ISO 14001:2004 for Environmental Management System & OHSAS 18001:2007 certification for occupational health and safety on March 21.

Prior to this, the Workshop was awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification for Quality Management System in August last year.

ECoR general manager Rajiv Vishnoi graced the occasion as chief guest and received the certificates on behalf of the ECoR and the Mancheswar Workshop.

Among others, chief mechanical engineer Prem Chandra and chief manager of the Workshop SK Pankaj were present.

Lauding the performance of Mancheswar Workshop during 2003-14, Vishnoi congratulated the staff who strived hard and obtained all the three ISO certifications in a short span of time.

“This will go a long way in improving not only the quality standard of coach overhauling in  Mancheswar workshop but also will contribute towards much better  environmental management and safety parameters inside Mancheswar Workshop”, he said.

Later, announced a group award for the entire team of the Workshop.
