Just ahead of panchayat polls, a contractor camp was torched by the Maoists threatening people to abstain from voting in Odisha’s Bolangir district yesterday night.

A group of Maoists stormed into the contractor camp at Kulhiamunda village of Rengali panchayat under Khaprakhol block in Bolangir district and gutted three tractors, 1 JCB machine and 1 roller.

Threatening people for boycotting the three tier panchayat polls that begin today, the red rebels destroyed the camp as the road construction work had been carried out without their permission in the area.
