According to reports, the company has been engaged in the construction of a road in the remote Nagira panchayat of allahara block under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY)  for the past one year.

A temporary camp has been opened near an Upper Primary school at Sibida by the contractor  Sajjan Kumar Aggrawal of Angul town.

The abduction took place at about 10 pm on Tuesday night when 15-17 armed Maoists arrived at the camp where two supervisors, a cook and four villagers of Sibida had fallen asleep.

The red rebels threatened them at gun point and asked them about the whereabouts of the contractor.

After beating them up, the Maoists locked the four villagers—Sambharu Giri, Bhajana Thakura, Gobinda Giri and Jhara Nayak—inside a room and took two supervisors—Amarendra Sahu of Himitira village under Kishorenagar police station limits and Hemant Sahu of Kendrapara— and cook Bilas Kumar Nayak with them.

However, they released the cook  midway late in the night.

While the reason for abduction of the supervisors was not yet known, there was no trace of the two abducted supervisors till reports last came in.
