Maoists call for bandh, poll boycott in 3 Odisha dists on Feb 13

Maoists have called for a bandh and boycotting of the upcoming panchayat polls in Rayagada, Kalahandi and Kandhamal district of Odisha on February 13.

An audio tape in this regard was released by the secretary of Basdhara, Ghumusar and Nagabali division of the banned outfit, Umakant.

He has alleged that BJD, BJP and Congress parties are doing politics only to fetch votes from people and are betraying them in the name of democracy.

Their (political parties) only motive is to serve the industrialists and capitalists, he said.

The Maoist leader also criticised the state government for failing to ensure welfare of the people despite its tall claims by citing examples of farmer suicide, death of children due to malnutrition and Dana Majhi incident.

He also questioned the acche din promised by the BJP after winning the general elections.
