Matrimonial site blues: Woman OAS officer lodges police complaint against hubby

Bhubaneswar: A woman OAS officer has lodged cheating complaint against her husband at Jeypore Town Police Station in Koraput district of Odisha three months after she entered into the nuptial alliance through a matrimonial site.

The woman officer claimed that her husband had identified himself as a senior official at NALCO during their wedding. But, the man could not produce any proof regarding his job during subsequent enquiries, she alleged.

According to sources, the woman OAS officer had chosen a man from Lingaraj Nagar in Jeypore as her life partner through a matrimonial site. The man had then identified himself as the Deputy Manager of NALCO, a Navratna public sector company in India.

The duo had tied the knot with the presence of family members and friends on February 9.

A few days after their wedding, the woman officer became suspicious of her husband’s profession. She later asked her husband to produce the identity card and other details regarding his job at Nalco. However, her husband did not produce the same on one plea or other, sources said.

The woman officer also raised the issue before her in-laws but they too could not provide any satisfactory answers to her queries. Subsequently, she approached the police for justice, sources said.
