Mercury rises in Odisha, Malkangiri crosses 35 degree C

Bhubaneswar: Mercury continues to rise across Odisha with maximum temperature recorded above 30 degree Celsius in 16 cities of the state on Thursday.

Malkangiri registered the maximum temperature 35.2 degree Celsius yesterday.

According to IMD forecasts, the weather in Odisha will remain dry till February 22. The temperature will rise after 11 am every day and it will record the highest temperature between 1 pm and 2 pm.

However, the coastal parts of Odisha will witness dense fog from Feb 18 till 20, the IMD said.

Besides Malkangiri that recorded above 35 degree C, Balasore and Keonjhar had 30 degree C, Cuttack and Talcher 31 degree C, Bhubaneswar 32.2 degree C, Gopalpur 32.5 degree C, Puri and Hirakud 30.6 degree C, Angul 32.7 degree C, Jharsuguda and Sambalpur 31.2 degree C, Bhawanipatna 30.2 degree C, Balangir 31.7 degree C and Dhenkanal registered the maximum temperature 30.6 degree C.

The maximum temperature in Bhubaneswar is likely to be 34 degree C within next 24 hours, regional MeT predicted.
