Mercury soars to 37 in Odisha capital, breaks five-year record

Mercury soared to 37 degree Celsius in Odisha capital breaking five-year record today.

According to reports, Bhubaneswar recorded 37 degree Celsius, the highest temperature in the month of March followed by Balasore and Hirakud.

While the temperature in Balasore was 34.6 degree Celsius, Hirakud recorded 34 degree Celsius.

“The temperature in Odisha is likely to decrease gradually due to Norwesters, which are expected on March 5 in north Odisha. While the temperature was recorded 39 degree Celsius between March and May since 1971 till 2000 in Odisha, it is likely to cross 45 degree Celsius during the months this year, said Director Sharat Chandra Sahoo, Bhubaneswar MeT office.
