The capital city of Bhubaneswar recorded 37.2 degree Celsius.

According to Dr Surendranath Pasupalak, weather scientist in the department of Meteorology of the Odisha University of Agriculture Technology (OUAT), temperature would cross 40 degree mark in most of the western Odisha districts in a couple of days.

Besides, the temperature in Bhubaneswar would cross 40 degree by Friday and will continue for three days, he added.

He, however, predicted that the rate of humidity in the coastal districts would go up due to movement of wind from the sea towards the coastal belts of the state that would result in rain or thundershower accompanied by strong wind at one or two places during the next 24 hours.
