Mercury touches 40°C at 15 places in Odisha; hotter days ahead

Bhubaneswar: Heat wave conditions intensified in Odisha as mercury soared and touched/crossed 40 degree Celsius mark at 15 places in the state, today.

Titlagarh was the hottest place in the state today with a maximum temperature of 42.2°C.

Below are maximum temperatures recorded at other places in Odisha today:

The Regional Meteorological Centre has forecasted hotter days for the state ahead as it issued heat wave warning for several districts.

* Heat wave condition likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bolangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Angul, Mayurbhanj and Balasore (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 30.03.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 31.03.2021).

* Heat wave condition likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bolangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Angul, Boudh and Kalahandi (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 31.03.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 01.04.2021).

* Heat wave condition likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bolangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Angul,  Boudh and Kalahandi (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 01.04.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 02.04.2021).
