The Met department has predicted heavy to very heavy rains accompanied by high velocity surface wind in some parts of Odisha in the next 48 hours under the influence of a low pressure area formed over Bay of Bengal and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal and Bangladesh coasts this morning.
In its latest bulletin, the local Met office said rain and thundershower would occur at most places over Odisha under its impact while warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places in the state on Monday and Tuesday.
Wind speed reaching 40 to 50 kmph may prevail along and off Odisha Coast, the met office said.
Fishermen have been advised against venturing into sea as sea condition would remain rough over the next 48 hours.
