MeT issues lightning, thunderstorm warning for 16 Odisha dists

Bhubaneswar: The local meteorological centre today issued lightning and thunderstorm warning for 16 districts of Odisha.

“Latest doppler weather radar and satellite imageries indicate that thunderstorm with lightning and rainfall likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Khordha, Puri, Ganjam, Angul, Gajapati, Cuttack, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nayagarh, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj and Balasore districts between 02.30 pm and 06.30 pm today,” a bulletin of the meteorological centre said.

People in these districts have been advised to take shelter in nearby building or other safety locations.
