The Meteorological centre here has said there were no casualties.

“We have got recordings at 8.18 minutes in the morning with its epicentre at about 35 km north of seismological observatory Bhubaneswar in Dhenkanal district and the intensity was 3.2 on Richter scale,” said Sarat Chandra Sahu, Director Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar.

Since it’s a very low magnitude earthquake it has only affected Dhenkanal and surrounding areas from 20.3 N and 85.9 E. This was what we term as a slight earthquake which is not damaging and it’s only to be felt by people, he added.
