Militant infiltration bid foiled in Kashmir

Srinagar, Aug 26:

The army on Wednesday foiled an attempt by militants who tried to sneak into India from Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

“The army intercepted a group of militants in Toot Mar Gali of Nowgam sector in Kupwara who had probably infiltrated into the Indian side of the LoC (Line of Control),” a police officer told IANS here.

He said the militants were challenged by Indian soldiers following which the militants also fired, triggering a gunfight. (IANS)
