Miracle! Minor girl rescued after swept away for 50 kms in Mahanadi

In a miraculous incident, a minor girl from Chhattisgarh was rescued alive by two fishermen a day after being swept away in river Mahanadi in Odisha on Wednesday.

According to reports, a minor girl hailing from Sarangarh area in Chhattisgarh was swept away in Mahanadi current from the upper catchment yesterday while she was on a visit to Chandrahasini temple at Chandrapur in Chhattisgarh with her family.

Two fishermen of Kukhamela village under Rengali police limits spotted her this morning at Hirakud Dam and rescued her.

Later, they reported the incident to police. Police have admitted the survivor to Lakhanpur Community Health Centre.

Surprisingly, the girl was alive after being swept away about 50 kms in the water current.
