Miscreants attack taxi driver in Odisha capital, loot cab

Bhubaneswar: Two unidentified miscreants allegedly attacked an Uber cab driver in Khandagiri area of Odisha capital on the wee hours of Thursday and looted the taxi.

According to reports, the accused duo booked the cab around 4 am and launched an attack on Ganesh Mahakud, the taxi driver, with sharp weapons after he reached Tapoban Lane near Khandagiri with the vehicle.

The wrongdoers snatched the victim’s mobile phone and Rs 12,000 before fleeing the spot with the car.

Mahakud sustained critical injuries in the attack and has been admitted to a private hospital for treatment. His condition is stated to be stable now, sources said. Police have started investigation into the incident.
