Miscreants fire at sarpanch’s son over extortion in Odisha’s Niali

Unidentified bike-borne miscreants fired at son of a sarpanch reportedly over extortion this morning at Karanga village under Niali block of Odisha’s Cuttack district.

According to reports, two persons came on a motorcycle and opened fire at Sushant Mohanty, son of Sadansha panchayat’s sarpanch Sarat Mohanty, and fled the spot.

Sushant, a contractor, sustained critical bullet injuries on his right thigh and was admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
