Miscreants fire at driver, loot car in Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack, Feb 1:

Unidentified miscreants opened fire at a person and looted a car he was driving at Town Hall road under Purighat police limits in Odisha’s Cuttack city this morning.

The driver, identified as Ranjit Mohapatra, sustained bullet injuries on his right leg and was admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital here.

According to reports, Ranjit had gone to Purighat area with the car, which was engaged in a travel agency, to pick customers.

Two bike-borne miscreants came near Ranjit while he was waiting for customers and asked for driving licence which led to an exchange of words between them.

The two miscreants then dragged Ranjit outside the vehicle and opened fire at him. The duo later fled the spot with the car.

Police started investigation into the incident after seizing the bike used by the looters from the spot.
