Miscreants loot Rs 15 lakh from ATMs in Odisha’s Baripada

Baripada: Unidentified masked miscreants looted around Rs 15 lakh from four ATMs in Odisha’s Baripada town last night, a police official said.

According to reports, the robbers looted cash from Axis Bank ATM at Tulasi Chaura, Bank of India ATM at Station Bazar, United Bank of India ATM at Palabani and Union Bank of India ATM at Astia in the town.

The looters reportedly broke the machines using gas cutters and decamped with the cash.

“The loot took place between 1 am and 3 am. Preliminary investigation revealed that around Rs 15 lakh has been robbed. We have collected CCTV footage of the ATM counters and are carrying out investigation on the basis of the videos. Scientific team and sniffer dogs have been engaged in the probe,” said Abhimanyu Nayak, SDPO, Baripada.
